Superintendent Message

Superintendent's Message:

I would like to introduce myself to the Notus School Community.  I will be serving as your Superintendent on a part-time basis, taking care of the official business required of Superintendent of Schools.

I am very excited to have this opportunity to work for the students, parents, and taxpayers of the District and with the excellent staff I have met in my first few days in the District.

The new arrangement of a part-time superintendent and a full time principal is the result of recognition by the School Board that the amount of time and number of tasks required of a school principal simply did not allow enough time for that individual to complete the multiple tasks required by Idaho Code of a Superintendent.  The new alignment of administrators, with Jen Wright continuing as elementary school principal, should have little if any financial impact on the District.

The District has offered the High School Principal position to Laurie Kiester who has been an administrator and teacher at Columbia High School in Nampa.  Ms. Kiester has 21 years of experience in education and three years of experience as an administrator. We expect to have her working at the high school on October 1.

I have eight years of administrative experience as a principal in high schools, k-12 schools, and junior highs as well as nine years of experience as a superintendent of schools in Orofino, and Avery school districts.  For two years I was superintendent for both Avery and Orofino.
