Superintendent Message

November

There are many moving pieces involved in running a school district.  Keeping children safe is goal number one. Next we strive to provide a quality education for each student.  One of my major responsibilities is maintaining the infrastructure as provide by the District’s patrons and taxpayers.

The Administrative Team has reviewed building security and made some improvements in the first weeks of the school year.  We have added additional lighting and exterior cameras in sensitive areas. Unfortunately maintaining building security is very difficult in the HS due to the number of exterior doors and the need for students to move from the Ag Building and Portable Classrooms to the main building every period.  We have a plan to improve that security, but more about that next month.

Over the course of the school year I will be conducting an analysis of District facilities and provide a plan to the Board of Trustees regarding needed maintenance.  Two issues that will be addressed in the plan for sure are the need for a new roof on the High School and an upgrade to the maintenance of the school grounds.

We will begin production of an old fashion newsletter called Bright Spots, with the first publication in December.  The newsletters will only be produced every few months. The goal is to reach out to patrons of the District who are not tied into the school media community.  We want taxpayers and voters to know what is happening in their schools.
