Policy 3010-Open Enrollment

  • Maximum Capacity

    "The District will only accept an open enrollment student if the grade level and/or programs they require are below the capacity limits specified in 3010P. The District shall report, at least four times during the school year, the space available at each grade level, by school, using these capacity limits and will post it prominently on the District website."

    Policy 3010P reads in part:

    A school, grade, or program(s) has lack of available classroom space and/or staff, such as when the current enrollment is at or above the following capacity limits:

    175 students per teacher per day OR 33 students per grade level.

    Special Education classroom, Self-Contained

    An average of 6 students per teacher

    English Language Learners (ELL)

    20 per full-time ELL teacher

    18 students per classroom

    Special Education classroom, Resource

    An average of 10 students per teacher

    Special Education classroom, Extended Resource

    An average of 6 students per teacher

    Special Education classroom, Special Day

    An average of 6 students per teacher
